Disasters In Whangarei

                                                                Disasters In Whangarei

As it was pouring down all towns were flooded and there were really loud banging and lots of lightning. Some people in Whangarei were stranded in their homes or in shops. The Disaster of the floods started on the 17 to the 19 of July. A lot of people were needing to go shopping but they didn't want to go out in the stormy weather, cause they didn't want to get sick, and this storm that someone is talking about was in Whangarei.

                                                         Disasters for farmers

During the flood, farmers had a really big disaster with all their cattle, Like milking them or feeding them cause there wasn't as much space in the barn for all of the cattle cause there might be more than you think cause some farmers have less than other farmers. Some farmers could have less than 100 cattle some of them on their land, cause they might not want to milk more cattle like how other farmers milk more than 300-500 cattle a day.

                                                                             Pollution

Many people have heard there has been lots of pollution around our country. Some of the pollution was from the sewage, after the flood a lot of the rubbish from the sewage, all of the rubbish from the sewage rushed up from out of the sewage and started to travel around the cities.  The rain didn’t stop for ten days straight, it had been 500 years ever since there had been a flood like the one we just had not so long ago.

                                                                        Evacuated families

Last but not least, Some families might have been stuck in their house due to the flooding, cause there might have been really bad floods near them or near there families. and if their roads were blocked off then they wouldn’t be able to see their family, cause of the flood or cause there might have been a really big landslide. On the way out to their families, they might have gone through a big flood and it might have been too deep for them to go through so they might have had to turn around and go back home, or they might have wanted to carry on so they could visit their family so they could spend family time with their family.

                             My conclusion

In conclusion, this flood had caused lots of families to be isolated cause they might have had lots of water surrounding their house or their roads that they live on because it might have big slips. You will see all of the slips on the side of the road when you drive past some roads that are really bad. Whenever you go on the roads that are really slippery make sure u have a four-wheel-drive so you can drive on the slippery roads or if they are still flooded or if they still have slips and a lot of water on the roads.

Amazing On Tilt Brush

This is a Movie that I created. The tools I used were paint 3D, sculptGL I created this to show people what I have been learning about kauri dieback. Kauri dieback is after people cut down the kauri tree and leave it for about 2 weeks it will start to rot and little green stuff will attract to the smell of the kauri tree and they will stick on to the gum forever. What I enjoyed about this project was I got to learn about all of the different types of kauri. What I found challenging or would do differently next time is to learn more about different types of nature or different types of trees.
